Riisitunturi National Park with Snowshoes (7 hrs)

7 h
from 129 €
Wandering around in most beautiful winter scenery of the Riisitunturi National Park.
Wow! This is like another planet!
- James, 12 years.

This fell is a real winter wonderland. The snowy trees at the top of the peak are a unique phenomenon which looks like snowy creatures and the silent view continues for as long as you can see. In January the magical blue light surrounds us. The Arctic day is so short that it is already dark when we walk back using headlamps.

In February we start to get more sunlight and in March it is spring winter time. Then we have long days, sun, snow and more snow. We'll wander around with snowshoes, follow trails and find our way through deep snow. By the campfire you'll hear stories about the Riisitunturi fell and the nature around us and by the fire we'll enjoy a trail meal.

The duration is 6-7 hours including transfers from Ruka and length is 4-8 km depending on the group's wishes. The route is moderately easy and suitable for everybody who is able to walk the same distance.

If you are an early bird and want to see both sunrise and sunset, join our From Sunrise to Sunset excursion in January when the daylight time is very short.

Our group size is 1-8.
