Extreme River Rafting in Oulanka National Park
Our skipper tells us about the river and guides us trough the rapids safely. The last rapid, Aallokkokoski, will leave no one dry as we go trough the waves. Surrounding us is the Oulanka national park. Try to catch a glimpse of hikers up on the canyons edge. After we go ashore we can see the magnificent Jyrävä waterfall with drop of 9 meters from the shore. After wondering at the rushing water we walk back to the car for 1,5 km.
There is also a possibility to continue the journey to the Russian border. After Jyrävä the river runs in a deep canyon and slows down to a steady stream. As we glide torwards the border zone we can admire the Oulanka national park and the wildlife all around us. During the trip we stop at a fire place and enjoy snacks: sausages, hot drinks and a sweet bun.
