Hotel | 'Feel like home' is the feeling we wish all visitors to have during their stay in Hotel Fjalar. Our hotel is small and cozy and has a unique history as a former private home. The hotel has 19 comfortable, well equipped rooms. Every room is individually decorated and a few rooms also have a kitchenette. Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet every morning and a typical relaxing Finnish sauna in the evenings combined with a refressing swim in our indoor pool.
Hotel Fjalar is situated a short walk from the center of Salo. Featuring 19 rooms the cozy hotel has a welcoming atmosphere and a homely feeling.
The original hotel building dates back to the year 1974 when it was built, on the best plot in town, as a private home for a local industrial magnate Mr. Fjalar Nordell, a founder of the company Salora (which is a radio and tv factory). Years later Salora and Nokia manufactured together the first mobile phones in 1981 and over the time, Nokia became the world's leading mobile phone manufacturer. The long-time position of Salo as a blooming mobile hub owned a lot to Mr. Fjalar Nordell's life's work.
While Hotel Fjalar is perfect for a short visit it is also an ideal place for an extended stay, offering a few rooms equipped with a kitchenette. The friendly staff will be happy to help you with any questions concerning the hotel or room reservations.
